Who we are
Salmo is an app that gives you daily sidequests to do alone or with friends. It is developed and operated by Jidde Wiegertjes, based in the Netherlands. Questions? Contact us at hello@salmoquest.com
What data we collect
Account data
When you create an account, we store your email address or Apple ID. You can also choose a display name, avatar, and city — these are optional.
Location data
We ask for your location to show you relevant quests nearby. We only use your location while the app is open. We do not store your exact location on our servers.
Usage data
We collect anonymised analytics data to understand how the app is used — such as which screens are visited and which quests are completed. We use PostHog for this. No personally identifiable information is included in these analytics.
Push notifications
If you allow push notifications, we store a device token to send you daily quest notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in your iOS settings.
Quest activity
We store which quests you have completed, liked, or attended. This data is linked to your account.
How we use your data
We use your data to provide and improve the app, send daily quest notifications (if enabled), show you relevant quests based on your location and preferences, and understand how the app is used in aggregate.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

Data storage
Your data is stored on Supabase servers located in the European Union (Ireland).
Your rights
You have the right to access the data we hold about you, delete your account and all associated data, and object to how we process your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@salmoquest.com
Account deletion
You can delete your account directly from within the app. Go to Preferences → Delete My Account. This permanently removes your account, profile, quest history, likes, and all other associated data. This cannot be undone.
Children
Salmo is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
